The Need
Today’s youth are bombarded by temptations, misdirection and
the challenges of bullying, self- acceptance, drug use and sexual pressures. The unstructured hours from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. leave many kids to find their own forms of supervision and recreation. This critical time after school is when kids and teens are often most vulnerable.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale is a safe place where young people go to have
fun when school is out. Our innovative programming, world- class experiences, and youth development professionals encourage and help kids and teens set and reach academic and personal goals to prepare them for great futures.
9 Diverse Sites
BGCS has eight Clubs located within the communities of Scottsdale, North Phoenix, Fountain Hills, the Salt
River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and the Hualapai Nation in Peach Springs. In August 2020, BGCS opened an outreach site in the north Phoenix community of Anthem. Our
kids come to us from different backgrounds and for many different reasons. No matter the level of financial assistance or support needed, in our doors, youth become Club kids ... an honor to carry throughout life.
Life-Changing Impact
Our outcome-based programming assures success is within reach for all who enter our doors. Statistics tell us that
regular attendance at a Club puts youth at an advantage. Club kids have a higher interest in STEM careers, volunteer more often and are more physically active than their peers.
Kids, Families & Communities
Many Club kids are active members from age 5 to18 and call the Club their second home. This is because our caring Club professionals become lifelong mentors who inspire and cheer them on throughout their youth.
Further, the health of our economy and communities depends on a well-educated workforce. We tailor our programming and efforts to address the different ways our kids need us most.
